1. THE PROJECT: Bahama Spaces is a 15-year long project of photographic activism. My goal is to help the recovery efforts of Grand Bahama families affected by hurricane Dorian. The book tells stories and shares visions of timeless lighthouses, churches and hidden spaces. Bahama Spaces is about the deep cultural connections and relationships that Bahamians have with their island homes.
3. BACK STORY: Sailing throughout the Bahamas islands, I have seen the triumphant spirit and resilience of the Bahamian people as they overcome adversity. Working in a tradition of art activism, I try to use photography to empower residents, and hope to help them make a direct, positive change in their lives. |
